The 100th Anniversary of the Faculty of Agricultural and Food Sciences University of Manitoba

The University of Manitoba’s Faculty of Agriculture celebrated its 100-year anniversary in 2007 with the production of a history book. The history was written as part of the Faculty’s anniversary celebrations, as a keepsake and as a means to record the contributions of the many people to its success and service to the community. The 244-page, two and four-colour book chronicles the people, and the events that helped shape today’s Faculty. The book provides a virtual living history of the men and women, and the life and times over the years that shaped today’s Faculty. The Story of The Portage Mutual Insurance Co.1884/1984

The history was written as a Centennial Project, as a keepsake, to honour all those who contributed to the company’s success, and as a statement and reminder of what has been accomplished in 100 years of serving customers. The 104-page, black and white book combines images sourced from company and government archives, newspapers, private collections and other sources to illustrate the history. Day Nursery Centre
100 YEARS of Service to the Community…since 1909

The history book was written as part of the Centre’s 100-year anniversary celebrations, as a keepsake, and to honour all those who helped shape today’s Centre. The 28-page, two-colour book uses a mix of images and text to record the evolution of the Centre. The history records the people, places and events over 100 years that helped transform the Centre from an employment agency for mothers of destitute or poor families to today’s modern child care facility focused on providing a balance between supporting families and the community and providing high-quality Early Childhood Care and Education for children.
